Story

Last year an amazing challenge was undertaken by a group of Tain friends to complete a 220-mile charity cycle from Glasgow to Tain. All funds raised went to the Schiehallion Ward of the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
Children from across Scotland with all forms of cancer are treated there.
Unfortunately not all children respond to treatment. For these children, clinical trials can be a lifeline – but before were often only available in highly specialised centres in England.

In 2017 the Schiehallion Appeal was launched and raised over £1m to bring the latest cancer treatments to Scotland for years to come.
Although the charity is based in Glasgow, it is very much a local charity for All of Scotland. If your child is far away from home, they offer fantastic support to the families as well as the patients.

An afternoon of musical entertainment is being held in Tain Tesco store on Saturday 21st December at 1pm. Many staff members are hugely talented and they, along with local youngsters, will be entertaining customers as they shop. Pipes, violins, guitars & singers. Lots of lively tunes! Local youngster Jordan who was treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in the Schiehallion Ward for almost 9 months before being allowed home again will be joining us, along with other young cancer survivors.

The event will also be recorded and sent to the ward so that the children there can enjoy some Highland festive fun whilst undergoing treatment in Glasgow.

A big raffle will also take place. Any donations, however big or small, would be hugely appreciated to help raise funds for this great cause. Every Little Helps!!
