Story
I will be turning 8 years old on 24 May 2021 and wish to do something meaningful this year for my birthday. Last year was a difficult year for everyone. I feel privileged that I could still continue my schooling however I have read about many children around the world who have struggled for food, let alone education. My parents suggested the charity Asha for Education to me and I think they are doing a fantastic job of helping the most needy children during COVID in India.
I will cycle every day until my birthday on 24May to reach and hopefully exceed my goal of 240kms. I hope to raise £240 with your help. Please support me!
I will bike to school and around my neighbourhood with my parents. On my biking trips, I will take photos and post here.
Here is a summary of the work done by Asha for Education, the charity I am supporting:
"Help the Vulnerable through Coronavirus lockdown India's COVID-19 lockdown has left many vulnerable communities without food for an indefinite period. Families that depend on daily wages do not know when their jobs will resume. Meanwhile, support from overburdened state governments has often been delayed or insufficient. By giving £10, you can cover a month of basic rations for an entire family. We are aiming to raise £5000 in order to help all families affiliated with schools supported by Asha London in various states of India e.g. West Bengal. Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Please donate to support our efforts. Every donation large or small matters!"
