Tata Chemicals Europe Sandstone Trail 2016 · 16 July 2016

For over 35 years, St Luke’s has been providing free of charge specialist palliative care and support for people in mid & south Cheshire living with life limiting illnesses. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and end of life care.

Story

The Sandstone Trail is a 34 mile long-distance walkers' path, following sandstone ridges running from Frodsham in central Cheshire to Whitchurch just over the Shropshire border. The path was created in 1974 and extended in the 1990s. Much of the route follows the Mid Cheshire Ridge but in places the trail also passes through the Cheshire Plain, including farmland, woodland and canal towpaths.

St Luke’s Hospice's ethos is one of service; being of service to our local people and community is central to all that they do.  They believe the most important privilege any person can have is the opportunity to comfort and support one’s fellow human beings in their hour of need.  This spirit of service at St Luke’s extends not only to the patients, but also to family and friends, and is not restricted by income, class, creed or gender.
