Story
A few months ago, we decided to take on the challenge of climbing Everest Basecamp. Well, it was mainly due to Annu G convincing us it would be an epic way to mark her 30th (couldn't have just gone to Cuba or something?!) and pushing us to kick this number off our bucket list.
Well, we figured this trek would also be a great chance for us to raise some money for a charity in the process. Nepal Earthquake Recovery Fund is a start-up charity with a difference. They are focused on collaborating with local partners at a grassroots level to deliver relief to the most isolated and vulnerable Nepalese communities
The 7.8 earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April 2015 killed over 8800, injured more than 21,000, and destroyed the homes of 3.5 million people. Despite two years having passed since this disaster, rebuilding and recovery has been painfully slow and the severe humanitarian crisis in the country continues.
Please note that every penny you donate goes straight to the charity as we will be covering all the costs of the trip from our own pocket (it's not a sponsored trek).
