Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
6 years ago my eldest son Jonothan was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy. This condition has no cure at the moment although it can be controlled by the use of drugs or steroids. It is a condition that can worsen with age some people requiring dialysis and ultimately transplant at a young age. Presently Jonothan is taking daily medication to control his protein levels in his urine and seems to be responding well to treatment.
This year I will be 50 on the 1st July. In October 2015 along with a couple of friends I climbed Ben Nevis raising money for kidney research where I learned about the Great Glencoe trekathon which is 26.2 miles through some of Scotland's most beautiful and challenging landscape in 12 hours. This year it lands on my birthday and so I decided to do it along with raising money for kidney research. My cousin Andrew Dunn who is Jonothan s godfather is joining me this time. I will also be doing the Ullswater way in April which is 20 miles as a warm up with everyday adventures. I am also joining members and staff from the Sandpiper club to do a Born Survivor challenge in September.
