Sandringham memory walk 2018-2004579 · 16 September 2018
WE DID IT! We smashed the walk and we reached our target of £500! HERES TO NEXT YEAR LADIES!
We are a group of 9 ladies who all work on Oxborough ward in the QEH Kings lynn, despite all working in varying roles, we all come into contact with people living with different kinds of dementia everyday. And many of us have had personal experiences with those closest to us being diagnosed with dementia, and are aware of the heart breaking consequences of the disease.
We are going to walk as a team to not only raise much needed funds for this important charity, but also to raise awareness and promote positive understanding. Whilst currently there is not cure to slow down or stop the progression of dementia, research is helping to develope further treatments to help symptoms of the disease. More wide spread training and information delivered into the community is also promoting better care and support for those with dementia allowing them to live with improved quality of life.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
