Story
The Children's Adventure Farm Trust are based in Millington, Altrincham at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th century farmhouse set in 10 acres of grounds and Cheshire countryside. CAFT is a lifeline to children who are in desperate need, bringing a little light and fun into children's lives who have known terrible hardships from an early age. CAFT provides activities for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West, offering free holidays, respite care, activity days and the much loved Christmas party programmes.
The Prest team sponsored a Christmas party in 2015 and spent the day dressed as Christmassy characters, much to the delight of the children...especially our 'big' children, Hayley and Lianne who loved dressing up as a Christmas tree and a penguin! We had to drag them back to work.
CAFT has touched the hearts of all members of staff here at Prest following our visits to the farmhouse and fundraising events in aid of the charity. We felt it was time that we put ourselves through some strain in order to raise additional funds to help put smiles on the faces of these very special children and make memories they will treasure forever.
Our running team consists of a mixture of abilities - a marathon runner, regular 10k runners, keep fit runners and a few who have been inspired and are starting their 'running career'. The runners are as follows, in no particular order of ability:
- Mark Livesey
- Lisa Livesey
- Hayley Prest
- Dan Miller
- Heidi Spencer
- Alex Bodek
- Helen Barton
- Lianne Marsh
- Ben Marsh
- Joanne Drew
- Ian Drew
And not to forget, the rest of the Prest team have promised to be our cheerleaders on the day to help us round the course.
