<p data-start=\"113\" data-end=\"172\">The Green Squirrel is partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for one external defibrillator for the outside of their building. This life-saving device will be accessible to anyone in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

<p data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"772\"><strong data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"547\">Why a Defibrillator at Green Squirrel is So Important</strong>

<p data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"406\">Each year in the UK, over 30,000 people suffer a sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital. Survival rates are low, with fewer than 1 in 10 people surviving.

<p data-start=\"408\" data-end=\"640\">In a sudden cardiac arrest, every second counts. Without immediate CPR and defibrillation, survival chances decrease by around 10% per minute. Early CPR and access to a defibrillator can significantly improve survival chances.

<p data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"815\">However, public access defibrillators are used in only around 9% of cases, highlighting the urgent need to make these life-saving devices more accessible in our communities.

<p data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"815\">Having a defibrillator at Green Squirrel could make a life-saving difference before emergency services arrive.

<p data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"1033\"><strong>How a Defibrillator Will Help the community </strong>

<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1296\">Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance trust and available for the public to use 24/7.

<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1517\">This doesn’t replace emergency services. Instead, it provides immediate, potentially life-saving intervention while the ambulance is enroute. The quicker the shock is delivered, the greater the chance of survival.
