Hi! My names Lou & in March 2021, I was diagnosed with heart failure; Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), which is a disease of your heart muscle where it becomes stretched and thin. This means that it’s unable to pump blood around your body efficiently and can also lead to irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), blood clots or sudden death, there’s no cure, but it’s manageable with medication and lifestyle changes.  

I'm advocating to help make a difference by supporting lifesaving research for heart failure, spreading global social awareness, providing information, supporting, fundraising and donating. I noticed the lack of social awareness to heart failure and the impacts it has on us survivors, families and friends. 

Your support would be appreciated in helping to make a lasting impact and a difference to us survivors. All donations received will go to the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. For example, £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist.
