The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.

A student at the Shires has decided to organise and participate in a charity walk to raise money for this charity. The whole idea was his own because he felt like it was a good thing to do and wanted to give something back. A member of his care team was supported by Macmillan recently during a very tough situation.

On the 16th July 2020, we will be walking the length of the school day (6.5 hours) and we hope to walk the full distance around Rutland Water. The student who is participating in this charity walk has Autism and can find it challenging to manage environmental influences that can cause anxiety and stress.
