Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Back on a cold and rainy afternoon in January I was walking my dog through Newbury town centre. When I got to the Market, I saw that Phil and Holly on the flower stall were selling their remaining flowers very cheaply as there was nobody around due to both the Lockdown and the poor weather.
I felt so desperately sorry for them that I purchased 17 buckets of flowers despite not knowing what I was going to do with them. I called my hubby to come and collect them and we decided we would hand them out to family, friends and neighbours.
So every Thursday I go to Phil and Holly to buy flowers and we have now delivered bouquets to over 500 people - including random people out having a walk. It has been great to see the surprise and happiness on their faces.
So may of you have asked "can we give you money?" or "can we contribute in some way?", so we have decided to help Newbury Cancer Care. This charity, as with all charities, has struggled during this difficult time but they have continued to help and support so many of us over the years. You can read more about their great work at http://www.newburycancercare.org.uk
I will continue to support Phil and Holly - a local business to Newbury - whilst this lockdown continues.
Thank you all for taking your time to read this and for your support.
