We empower people who are visually impaired to succeed in a sighted world

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Due to COVID19 this mountain race was postponed last year to 22
May 2021 and sadly, they have announced the same this year a couple of weeks ago. Ive decided to still complete the
challenge and run it on the day as it was planned. It will be tough but I am ready to get out of the comfort zone once again!

This is the description of the race and I will complete the same route etc.

It's one of the toughest fell races in Wales. The race starts and finishes in the market town of Dolgellau, at sea level, and climbs almost 3000ft to the summit of Pen y Gader itself.

I love challenging myself and push to the limits and I love
supporting those are in need.

The charity sector has been hard hit by Covid19 and I am
raising funds for The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) which has had to absorb substantial extra costs of over half a million pounds or more to keep its students and staff safe throughout and via remote learning when necessary.

The RNC, based in Herefordshire, is the UK’s leading specialist residential college of further education for people who are visually
impaired or blind and its students come from across the UK.

The students are given specialist support and the tools eg
IT to access a range of academic and vocational studies such as GCSEs, A Levels and NVQs including sports training, media studies and massage. Alongside this, the students develop their independent living skills including cooking, home care and mobility as well as enjoying exciting extra curricular activities, including theatre and social trips, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, oversees exchanges and much more.

The RNC equips its students so they can be confident about
their next steps in life, whether that is into work, volunteering or further education such as university so that they achieve their personal and career goals, just like their sighted peers.

Thanks from myself and on behalf of the RNC for your
wonderful support of my challenge!
