Awyr Las (Blue Sky) is the North Wales NHS Charity. Through the charity you can support the specific hospital wards, departments or community healthcare services that are closest to your heart. Your support helps fund added extras which the NHS in North Wales cannot provide.

Story

Ym mis Gorffennaf 2017 cawsom y newyddion erchyll fod gan fy ngwraig, Caryl Anwyl, cansar y fron. Fel y gallwch feddwl, roedd hyn yn glec annisgwyl iawn ond brwydo roedd rhaid. Dechreuodd hi’n syth ar gwrs 12 wythnos o Chemotherapy dwys iawn dros misoedd yr haf ac yn dilyn hyn cael llawdriniaeth i echdynnu’r cansar.

Erbyn hyn mae Caryl wedi cwblhau triniaeth dyddiol o Radiotherapy am 4 wythnos yn Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and yn y broses o gryfhau a gwella. Cawsom y newyddion gwych bod y canser wedi diflannu a bod y triniaeth garw o Chemotherapy wedi bod yn llwyddianus.

Dim ond canmoliaeth sydd gennym tuag at y driniaeth a’r gofal mae Caryl wedi cael ac yn parhau i gael tan mis Gorffennaf eleni. Cafodd hi ofal arbennig yn Ward Alaw wrth dderbyn Chemotherapy, cefnogaeth anhygoel gan y Nyrsus Gofal Canser y Fron, ei hedrych ar ôl yn wych yn Ysbytai Gwynedd, Llandudno a Glan Clwyd.

Bydd criw o 16 o feicwyr amhrofiadol ar y cyfan yn cwblhau her ‘Tour de Werddon’ ar ddiwedd mis Mai (Mai 30 - Mehefin 2) i godi arian tuag at Awyr Las. Bydd yr her yn cychwyn o Harlech, i Gaergybi a drosodd i Ddulyn. Yno byddan yn seiclo o Ddylun i lawr i Rosslare cyn croesi i Abergwaun. Ar ôl cyrraedd Abergwaun byddan yn seiclo i fyny at Aberystwyth ac yn ôl i Harlech.

Erfynnaf arnoch chi i gefnogi’r her yma er mwyn codi arian tuag at Gofal ac Ymchwil Cansar yng Ngogledd Cymru. Mae pob ceiniog o’r arian sy’n cael ei gasglu yn mynd trwy dwylo AwyrLas gan fod costau’r her wedi ei ariannu gan y beicwyr.

Diolch am eich cefnogaeth hael.

In July 2017 my wife, Caryl Anwyl, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This was a complete shock that took us by suprise, but the only thing to do was to beat it. She immediately began a gruelling 12 week course of intense Chemotherapy over the summer months followed by surgery to remove the cancerous tissue.

She has now completed a four week course of Radiotherapy in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and is on the road to recovery. We received the amazing news that the cancer cells had been nullified as the Chemotherapy treatment was a success.

The care she has had and continues to receive until July of this year has been truely wonderful. She was given outsanding care in Alaw Ward during her Chemotherapy treatment, the finest of support from the Breast Cancer Care Nurses and looked after magnificenty well at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor and Llandudno Hospital.

In May this year (May 30 - June 2) a group of 16 novice cyclist will be undertaking a 300 mile charity cycle ride ro raise money towards Cancer Care and Research in North Wales through the hands of the AwyrLas Charity. The challenge will take the cyclists from Harlech to Holyhead, over to Dublin and down to Rosslare before crossing back to Fishguard. They will then cycle up to Aberystwyth before cycling back to Harlech.

I do hope you can support us by donating towards Cancer Care and Research in North Wales. Every penny raised will be going directly to the charity as all costs have been paid for by the cyclists.

Thank you for your support.
