After conquering Lake Winermere in The Great North Swim in 2015 with Nina Prichard, Anna Keelyside and Kate Scott,  I then got my running shoes on and challenged myself to complete my first ever half marathon in Cardiff in October 2016 with two of my very best friends Sara Sumner and Ruth Goymer.

I then set my sights on the highest challenge of them all: a 17 day trek through the Himalayas to reach Base Camp, Everest; a childhood dream fulfilled as I inched ever closer to my £10,000 target. I’m going to try to hit it this July by cycling with one of very best friends Ruth, from London to Paris over 4 days covering 300 miles in the saddle.

Every challenge I set for myself is to continue to raise money for a great charity - "The Better Life Appeal" which has been set up to raise funds for the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre at Llandough Hospital. One of my very best friends, Allison Angell has Cystic Fibrosis and she has been leading the way in fundraising for the appeal. She is such an inspiration to so many people and gives me the strength everyday to continue to challenge myself in so many ways. The other reason I strive to raise as much as I can for Cardiff and Vale Health charity is that their incredible group of Doctors, nurses and other staff looked after my Dad so brilliantly when he fought his battle with oesophagus cancer last year after chemotherapy, radiotherapy and what turned out to be life-saving surgery.
