From 16th to 21 September I am walking 83 Miles, from Winchester to Bath, in aid of Dorothy House Hospice. I have always loved walking but felt the technology was never quite there before, to give me, and other totally blind people, the confidence to go it alone for these type of distances. I know that whilst my dad didn't like long walks, I thought it was fitting to raise money for a charity that massively supported Nigel and our family and therefore is close to home in both senses. Also, I plan to finish my walk on the 21st,  three days before his 61st birthday.

 I am starting in Winchester at my friends Mike and Kates place and will finish at Dundas Aqueduct, a famous landmark on the outskirts of Bath. I will be walking along national cycle routes 23 and 24 as well as other footpaths and quiet roads.

Dorothy house is based in Winsley, between Bath and Bradford-On-Avon and provides excellent care to people nearing the end of their life as well as bereavement  support for family members, carers and children. The charity also works with patients, enabling them to live their final days at home as well as arranging experiences that hold precious memories for families and friends.
