Your Marathon · 20 December 2017

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

We are raising money to help people with Parkinson's get the exercise they need to help them manage their condition.

Exercising for 2.5 hours a week can slow the progression of Parkinson's and is as important as taking the correct medication.

It's amazing how many parallels there are between training for a marathon and exercising when you have Parkinson's. Both need to: follow a plan, push to improve, develop a training routine, focus on objectives, never give up...

Why not join us by taking part in your own personal marathon, it can be anything you like. Darren Evans will be running the London marathon on the 28/04/2019 and we have a team of people completing their own personal challenges, mirroring Darren's training plan. All the challenges are different, chosen by the individual to help them maintain fitness.

HOW CAN I TAKE PART?

People with and without Parkinson's are invited to take part in their own personal marathons. Why not join Darren during his 12-week training program to help yourself and to raise money for this project?

Personal marathons will be different for everyone. It is not important whether your personal marathon is made up of small or big tasks. This is all about what exercise will benefit your health.
