Dave and I are running the Paris Half Marathon on Sunday 7th of March on behalf of TyneSight, part of the Newcastle Healthcare Charity.  TyneSight is affiliiated with the Royal Victoria Infirmary and provides specialist treatment for eye disease and optical trauma.  The charity is very close to our family's hearts, having provided an excellent level of care for Dave when he was injured in a glass attack at Xmas 2008.  Although sadly Dave lost the sight in his left eye the professionalism and expertise of the surgeons and nurses  minimised both the damage and his subsequent recovery time.

 

To show our gratitude Dave and I are putting ourselves through a bit of pain on their behalf and hope you can sponsor us.  For the sadists out there it will be very gruelling - neither of us are near fit enough to run a full one!  To make sure it's a real effort I've steadfastly refused to do any training but to use a golfing analogy this is like giving Dave a 10 stroke handicap.  I beat him thoroughly when we last did one of these together and know he needs the help!
