Story

Hello everybody!

On 18th March 2011, we are making a trip to the Gambia to visit Seedlings School, in Manjai Kunda which is about 7k ouside of the capital Banjul.

We sponsor two children who attend the school, which is run by a charity, and this trip is about going as part of a group to help at the school itself (we don't know what we'll be doing yet - could be painting walls, construction, gardening or helping out with the kids in class and at play) as well as meet and spend time with the kids.

As well as practical support with our presence, we also need to raise some cold hard cash for the charity, but it must be clear that any donations will not be going towards the cost of the trip: we have paid for that bit ourselves (don't you hate it when someone says "I am going to do an awesome activity for charity. I need to raise 20 zillion pounds, 18 zillion of which is to cover the awesome activity" - so annoying!) and will be going directly where it is needed.

So, if you could see your way clear to putting a bit of cash in the pot for the charity it would be really appreciated. All donations big or small gratefully received.

If you want to find out more about the school, take a look at its website http://seedlingsschool.webs.com/schoolshistory.htm

Thank you!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
