Everyman Male Cancer Campaign - Keep Your Eye on the Ball 5K Run for men · 18 July 2010 ·

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On July 18th I will be running the men-only Rother Valley 5k for Everyman, the male cancer charity. I know I just ran a marathon, so why sponsor me for a 5k? Because I will run so fast that my lungs will explode and the lactic acid in my legs will cause them to turn to stone as I cross the finish line. Look at my face in that photograph. That's when I'm running SLOWLY. Imagine my face when I run quickly! It's not a pretty site but I don't mind because it's for charity.

Everyman are a charity for prostate and testicular cancer. One man dies every hour from prostate cancer in the UK and testicular cancer is now the most common cancer in men between the ages of 15-44. Despite these alarming figures, awareness among men remains low and research in this area is severely under-funded. Everyman works to raise awareness and fund research into testicular and prostate cancer. You can read more about them on the left.
