London to Paris Cycle Ride · 2 July 2008 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and thanks to everyone who has donated thus far, the response and support has been brilliant and having reached the original target of 2000GBP I've now revised the target to 5000GBP. As an example of what the money raised could go to, the current total of 2700 would be enough to run the Headway helpline for 10 days. The helpline is a valuable resource for families that have been affected by brain injury so thanks again for all the support.

I completed the London to Paris ride on July5th. I found the 300 mile trip pretty gruelling at times…especially a fairly cold morning on the third day when my legs seemed to have been swapped for two chunks of jelly. I am pleased to say however that the day did warm up and the rest of that day was smooth roads with only a couple of fairly large hills and lots of nice scenery (I would recommend Lisieux to Vernon via Le Neuborg to anyone J).

Unfortunately I’ve no pictures of me at the Eiffel tour to prove I actually got there because my phone (which was also my camera) got a little wet when I left it in my pocket as I was cycling through a thunder storm ooops! However, I should be getting the group picture from the organising company fairly soon…but until then you’ll have to take my word for it.

Thanks again for the support you have all given to me and to Graham who continues with his own much tougher journey, it’s very much appreciated.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Headway - the brain injury association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

That's me and Bertie in the pic

So please sponsor me now!

Again, many thanks for you support.
Diolch am eich cefnogaeth.
