Story
In October I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in support of ‘Help for Heroes’
Mt. Kilimanjaro. The Roof of Africa stands at a mighty 5896m (19340ft) . Our challenge takes us along the Machame Route that approaches
Kilimanjaro from the south through dense tropical rainforest and all the way up to the mighty snow capped summit to temperatures of -25 degrees.
Why am I doing this?
I am taking on the challenge in aid of 'Help for Heroes', Its a gruelling climb but one I think is worthy of such a cause and nothing compared with what our guys go through on a daily basis.
This money will go towards creating 'Personal Recovery Centres'. Most wounded service personnel are able to return to their homes,
but not all families can provide the level of support, supervision and care needed to help someone who has a serious injury.
Personnel Recovery Centres (PRCtrs) will help service personnel to make the swiftest possible return to duty, or smoothest transition to
an appropriately skilled and supported civilian life. They will be made available for seriously wounded, injured, or long-term sick service
personnel, irrespective of cause of injury, within a conducive military setting.
Please Support our guys wounded in action.
