We are currently training for the 2010 London Marathon *cue Rocky theme music*.

I know know what you're thinking: London Marathon? 26.2 miles? Training through the winter? You must be nuts!! But it's for a fantastic cause and the event promises to be an epic experience. So, why not?

In 2007 Tom Nabarro, a university friend to Gary and Rajiv, had a serious accident while snowboarding in Bulgaria. Tom received immediate medical care on the slopes, was transferred to the Military Medical Centre in Sofia, and had emergency surgery for damage to his neck.  Shortly after Tom was transferred by air ambulance to the UK National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury.  Tom spent over 15 months recovering in hospital at Stoke Mandeville.  Finally in August 2008 Tom moved home.

Tom is now fully recovered and enjoying life, all be it as a quadriplegic (http://www.tomnabarro.com/). The inspirational story of Tom's accident and living through his recovery is the driving force behind Gary and Rajiv's interest in the London Marathon.  Tom's journey to recovery makes 26.2 miles seem a small challenge!

Having to pick out a suitable charity to support for the marathon Tom recommended the Spinal Injuries Association. A tireless charity dedicated to improving the lives of those who have had major spinal injuries.  The work of the SIA is focused on improving quality of living and campaigning for the best medical and social care for spinal injured people.

Now it's your chance to help make every yard count for Gary and Rajiv. Please donate what you can. Your kind  support is warmly appreciated. And maybe we'll see you at the finish line come April?

Peace and love,

Gary, Raj, Tom, and the SIA!
