As you are all probably aware I have been working for the Kent Air Ambulance for a number of years now. I thought it was about time that I got off my butt, put on my running shoes and raised some more cash for the Charity.

I am aiming to raise £500 pounds or more. This amount of money will help get someone in need the specialist medical attention that we can provide and help increase their chance of survival.

Since joining the Trust in June 2003 I have seen many changes within the charity and the way in which it operates. The most recent was the introduction of specialist Doctors as part of the medical team. This in my opinion has been the biggest single progression that the trust has made. The Paramedic, Physician partnership is now able to take the Accident and Emergency Department directly to the side of the patient wherever that may be. Following on from that we are also able to transfer the patient directly to the hospital that is most able to deal with their immediate needs whether that be a Poly-trauma centre, Neuro unit or Cardiology.
