My story

I have finally dusted down my Penny Farthing and am taking part in the Lancashire Loop Cycle Challenge. As the name suggests, this is a circular bicycle ride of 100 miles (160.93 km in new money) around the wonderful county of Lancashire. Unfortunately it is a not a flat ride and includes total climb of 5000ft, so think of a long bike ride over the top of Ben Nevis and that's what we are doing.

As the furthest I have cycled in the last 25 years is 4.5miles I will need all the encouragment I can get so don't be bashful about sponsoring me, you know you want to.

The Message Trust is an award winning charity working in some of the toughest areas of Manchester. As one newspaper put it ‘successive governments have tried and failed to achieve what The Message is doing…’ (Manchester Evening News, July 20, 2008)
