Sightsavers is dedicated to combating blindness in developing countries, primarily in the Commonwealth, by working with partner organisations in poor and the least served communities to support ongoing activities that prevent and cure blindness, restore sight and provide education and training for people who are blind.

Update 26/5/08

Despite a headwind for 18 miles, I managed to complete the marathon in my target time of 3:30. The last 5 miles or so were tough, but I managed to keep running to the end

Thanks for all who have sponsored me - I promise to post no more photos of my legs on the web (they are going away for their summer holidays)

Sightsavers does fantastic work in the third world to prevent and cure blindness. This makes a huge difference to the lives of the people they help, and also to their families and communities.
