Just want to say a HUGE thank you to all those who have supported us so far :)

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

In September 2010 training began for the most gruelling task I have ever faced. I will be cycling with my best friend Mark Stevens, from Lands End to John O’Groats in June 2011 to raise money and support for Cancer Research UK and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Neither of us having cycled further than the local shop, I know we have a huge task ahead of us. However in comparison this is nothing when contrasted to the size of the task that faces so many people today; fighting and beating cancer or living with the devastating condition that is MS. Your support and contributions can help beat and make living with these terrible diseases easier.

Cancer claims so many lives and affects so many more. Both Mark and I have been affected by Cancer. Our Mothers have both fought and won the battle but so many others continue to have to deal with the devastating effects it has on its sufferers, their families, and those who around them. All of this puts our own lives into perspective, and with this in mind, we want to do something. So we are doing. We want to help progress the research and fight against this awful disease.

We are also raising money in the Memory of my Auntie Teresa who suffered from MS. She is testament to a person who has had to deal with the devastating effects that MS causes. My Auntie Teresa lived a happy and fruitful life and was loved by all those around her. She had nothing but the most generous love to give back. MS cut short Teresa’s life, so it’s in her name we would also like to raise support, awareness and money, to help others suffering the same devastating conditions.

In June 2011 we hope to be prepared to tackle this mammoth road trip on two wheels. We are aiming to complete the 1000 mile trip within two weeks. We don’t know what lies in the roads ahead of us, many hard miles of tarmac, battering winds and soul destroying hills I’m sure!

Every single pound raised through donation will go to our chosen charities. We will be funding the event ourselves to cover all the expenses involved in completing such a task. This means that every single penny raised can go towards our chosen causes.

I need you to spread the word. With today's information systems, getting in contact with people and sending information has never been easier. One copy of a poster, explaining what I am doing and why, can be sent to all of your friends, relations, work colleagues, employees, sport team mates, the list is endless and it takes a matter of seconds. PLEASE, in that message ENCOURAGE those people to pass it on to their contacts. We can start a chain of information so that this effort can generate as much interest, and therefore money, as possible. Who knows where it could end up? BECOME PART OF IT, because it is not just us making the physical effort, this will become a full team effort involving us all, and each and everyone will have played their part, and eventually through our efforts we can help the sufferers of these devastating conditions.

Spread the message: GET INVOLVED

Thanking you all in advance for all of your efforts.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Donations made from this site will go to Cancer Research UK, if you would prefer to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society please visit:

http://beatms.mssociety.org.uk/netcommunity/ridewithgary

Sponsers, well wishers or media wishing to contact me.

garygoude@hotmail.com
