Bryony and Vanessa are mounting their iron horses and cycling from the Scottish/English border right up to the north coast of Scotland.
The trip is around 400 miles, taking in some of the most hilly, remote and windy areas of the UK. The girls are unsupported and will be carrying all of their equipment with them.
The route will start at Berwick and take in the Moorfoot Hills, Edinburgh, Creiff, Aberfeldy, the Drumochter Pass, Dalwhinnie, Aviemore, Inverness, Ullapool, Assynt and will finish at Smoo Cave near Durness. The route will take roughly 7 days.
The cycle is being done in support of the Anthony Nolan Trust, the official charity of The Gathering 2009 (an event Bryony is currently helping organise). To find out more about the event and the charity visit The Gathering 2009 Website.
Update: We've FINISHED!!! Had an amazing last two days passing by Assynt, Stac Pollaidh and Suilvan and finished by running semi-clad into the sea at Durness. The weather did eventually catch us up and give us a bit of a soaking but the sun came out for the very end. Thanks so much to everyone who's sponsored us so far, and thanks too to all the random folk who've given us sponsorship along the way including Lorna and Neil from the bus, Spill the Beans cafe in Dunkeld and two fishermen in Sutherland!
