The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the UK and Ireland's only charity dedicated to providing specialist support to all those affected by multiple system atrophy (MSA); a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition. We rely entirely on voluntary donations to provide our free support services.

Story

First of all I'd like to thank you for spending the time to look at my page.

Most of you will know me, but for those of you who dont, I'd like to give you a brief description of myself and my cause.

My name is gavin Brett and my mum was a sufferer of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) which is a condition not too dissimilar to the more familiar Parkinsons disease. My mum battled this condition for more than 5 years with total dignaty, but on the 20th December 2008 she lost her long battle. That morning I told myself that I'll make it my lifes aim to raise money and awarness for the only charity that deals with MSA, 'Sarah Mathesons Trust'

The Sarah Mathesons Trust  are a very small charity that only employes 3 people (only one full time) and every penny they get means so much, The money they recieve will be spent on a combination of finding a cure and the purchasing of eqipment that makes day to day living that little bit more tollerable for sufferers...they made those five years so much easier for my mum.

The first of my fund raising events shall be a joint sponsor of 'The Great North Run' and 'The Great South Run'

'The Great north Run' is a half marathon which is 13 miles and 'The Great South Run' is a 10 mile run.

The Great North will take place on the 20th September and the Great South will be the 25th Oct

Five very good friends of mine will be joining me  for the Great South run, These are: Louise Eichert, Daniel Vigar, Nicola Hawkins, Mark Allen and Allison Clifton all of which are running for the same great cause and all have been training very hard indeed, a big big thank you to everyone involved.

Your Sponsors will be greatly appreciated and please forward the cause on to friends and family.

 Again,thank you so much.

Gavin Brett.
