Story
Thanks for visiting my fund raising page.
In August I will be taking part in the London Sprint Triathlon .This will involve a 750 meter open water swim followed by a 20k bike ride and then a 5k run to the finish!
Why? Well I took part last year and enjoyed the day and atmosphere so much that I was hooked. The goals this year will be to not only beat my time but more importantly to raise as much money as I can for The Children's Trust.
The Trust is a National charity that provides support and services to children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They have recently embarked on a fund raising project to help build a purpose-designed accommodation for children who come to the Trust for rehabilitation following a tragic accident or illness such as meningitis. The estimated cost for this project is £7m and to date they have raised £5.2m - all from voluntary donations.
As you can appreciate , they have some way to go.If everyone who reads this page were to donate then we would be on target to reach my fund raising target of £1,000. It's a modest target by comparison but I would be delighted to raise it towards such a worthwhile charity and cause so please donate as much as possible.
Of course, I will be meeting all my own expense such as armbands, puncture kit , plasters and re-hydration drinks !
Training has gone well so far and my knees are holding up ! I will keep you posted and post an update closer towards the day. Can't stop now - just off for a swim !
Thanks and kind regards
Gavin
