Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are looking forward to running the Rotterdam Marathon on Sunday, 13th April 2008, to raise funds for the Rhodri Jones Memorial Appeal which in turn feeds the Bone Cancer Research Trust. We've been training hard for this Marathon which takes place in the Netherlands every April and attracts many top athletes. In fact, the Rotterdam Marathon has been ranked as one of the top 10 marathons in the world. (We're just hoping it's going to be easier because there aren't any hills in Rotterdam!!) Like many others, we were devastated when young sportsman, Rhodri Jones, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and died just eight months later aged twenty. Rhodri was a real character with a great big smile and a personality to match. Read his story on the following link and you will understand why it so important that we raise funds for research into primary bone cancer and do everything we can to improve the outcomes for children who are diagnosed with this cruel disease. http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/Stories_rhodrijones.shtml Please take five minutes to look at the Bone Cancer Research Trust website to appreciate the work of this charity in researching this rare type of cancer that is most prevalent in children and teenagers. http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/index.shtml All sponsorship will go directly to the charity! Many thanks for your support. Diolch yn fawr i chi gyd am eich cefnogaeth. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Bone Cancer Research Trust will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
