Thank you for visiting our fundraising page in memory of Ged.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: SANDS will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth every day in the UK. SANDS are working to ensure that as few families as possible experience this terrible loss.
No donation too small, every penny counts
Many thanks for your support.
LONDON MARATHON 29th APRIL 2009
I will be taking part in next years Flora London Marathon. Yes I am slightly insane, but I'm doing it in memory of our beautiful boy Ged and to help raise much needed funds for SANDS. If you would like to see me crawl over the finish line, please help make it happen by sponsoring me.
Training is going well, I'm currently up to 1 mile a week with 6 rest days and a full weekend down at the local pub!! I'm sure I'm on for a sub 2 hour time!!!
Many thanks
Gary.
A big thankyou to Claire Tsang who is currently raising money for SANDS. For every half pound lost through slimming, Claire is donating five pounds. Good Luck and keep it up!!
A big thankyou to Sarah Lafferty, who completed the 2008 High Legh 10K run, to raise funds for SANDS.
A big thankyou to Dave Mitchell, Chris Webster, Chris Burns, Sarah Hutchison, Dennis Shannon, Craig Daniels and Rachael Webster who completed the 2008 Great Manchester 10k run, to raise funds for SANDS.
Charity Football Match: Woodsend XI vs Hardly Athletic. 31st August 2008. Trafford FC: Shawe View.
A truly Fantastic day which raised a staggering £7428.36 for SANDS.
Both teams contested an evenly fought game and put on a great show for the spectators. Unfortunately, only one team could win. The result went down to penalties in which 'The Mighty' Woodsend came through Victorious!!
The after match party lived up to all expectations down at the Garricks Head. Jonny Spangles was in fine form and the entertainment went on long into the evening. Thankyou to Big Norman and his wife Denise who made the day very special.
A big Thankyou to all our friends and family who helped out on the day, without whom this event would not have been possible. A tremendous effort.
Thank you to all our sponsors for your kind donations. The Raffle and Auction raised a huge amount.
Finally, a big thankyou to everyone who turned up to support the event. I hope you had a great time. We certainly did!
We are sure the money raised will help comfort and help other families who have been affected by the loss of a baby and help promote research which could help save babies lives.
We are both very lucky and proud to be a part of such a great community surrounded by good people. We will never forget Sunday, it was a very special day.
Many thanks.
