We visited the Happy House last September when we went on holiday to Watamu in Kenya. The Happy House is an amazing place, when we pulled up outside we thought it was a new hotel being built not an orphange.
Watamu and the surrounding areas now has a very high number of orphans, due to Aids, Malaria and many other diseases. Numerous children are abandoned. Brothers and sisters try and care for each other. Some are not much older than the children they are caring for. Children have disappeared from the village.
Jamie and I are helping to sponsor a little boy to live at the Happy House, his name is Fikiri and he is six years old. Fikiri and his younger brother were taken to the Happy House in March after their mother who has mental problems abandoned them. Their father is not known, as is often the case.
The Happy House will be a happy and safe place for Fikiri and the other children to grow and be children. The 3 schools already built by the charity will provide a guaranteed quality education. Some of the orphans attending school will become Happy House Kids.
The Happy House is a very special place and will provide such a wonderful home for the children, which is why we are helping to support this charity.
Thank you so much for your donation, if you would like to know more about the Happy House and how you can get involved, please speak to Louisa.
Best Wishes, Jamie and Louisa
