Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We work to end the exploitation of wild animals and create a future where people and wildlife live in harmony. Across the world, we protect, rescue and care for wild animals in need, while helping communities coexist peacefully with wildlife. Help us take action — and keep wildlife in the wild.

Story

I COMPLETED THE LONDON MARATHON 2009 IN 5 HOURS 44 MINUTES, THAT INCLUDES WEE STOPS AND GAWPING AT KATIE PRICE AND PETER ANDRE AS I RAN PAST THEM!!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? NO I DIDNT THINK SO.

IT WAS SO HOT AND I DID FIND IT QUITE HARD AT TIMES, I EVEN HAD A LITTLE CRY TO MYSELF AT MILE 18 - I WELL AND TRUELY HIT A WALL.

BUT I GOT THROUGH IT AND EVEN MANAGED TO SPRINT THE LAST 400M TO THE FINISH LINE.

THE CROWDS WERE AMAZING (INCLUDING THE NANA OFFERING ME HAM SANDWICHES, THE CHILDREN HIGH 5-ING ME, THE BANDS AND ALL THE INSPIRATIONAL PEOPLE AROUND ME). ALSO I DEFINATELY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT IF IT WASNT FOR ME MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO CAME TO SUPPORT ME AT MILES 9, 13, 18, 23 AND THE FINISHING STRETCH - BIG THANKS TO THEM.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT, DONATIONS AND KIND WORDS YOU ARE ALL FABULOUS

THERE IS STILL TIME TO HELP ME REACH MY TARGET IF YOU CAN SPARE A COUPLE OF POUNDS, IT WILL MAKE ALL THAT MISERY 100% WORTH IT :o)

LOTS OF LOVE

Hey everyone,

I know some of you will laugh when you find out I am entered in to the London 2009 Marathon but this is something I am really excited about completing and I am really passionate about raising money for my chosen charity 'Born Free' . The charity has some amazing projects dedicated to saving some of our most beautiful wild and potentially endangered animals! For more information head to www.bornfree.com.

I would be so grateful if you could put your hands in pockets and spare a few pennies to sponsor me - i promise my weekly updates on my training will be worth all the money in the world as i fear it could raise a few laughs!

So if you see me running the streets of London throw me a wave and try not to laugh too much.

Join my facebook group for updates on my training and updates about 'Born Free' at http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?ref=mb#/group.php?gid=97571930436

Thank you all so much

Gem xx
