Gemma's page

Only six short months ago, my friend Sarah lost her very brave and beautiful daughter, Rowan – who was only 18months old – to Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1b.
A genetic disease which is the UK's biggest genetic killer of children under 2!!
In memory of her special little girl, I’m raising money for the SMA Trust, so they can help other children like Rowan and her family – as well as finding a cure for this genetic disease.
Before I try and persuade you to part with some money, please take a minute to look at the links below and you can see the precious little girl who we're fundraising in memory of.

Right, here's the business talk!
The Event: On what would have been Rowan's 2nd birthday (26th May) we're walking a hefty 17 miles, from her home village of Denby Dale to Dovestones reservoir...Oh and we’ll all be wearing our onesies!!!
Now I know people are forever asking for donations, but for me it really is a case of every penny counts! Please don’t feel obliged to follow suit or worse, be deterred from donating becasue people before you have given larger amounts – if you can spare a pound, please donate it, it all adds up. If everyone we all 'know' on our social networking sites just gave a quid, we'd raise a fortune. That's why, whatever the amount you feel you can spare to donate towards this fabulous cause, I'll be extremely grateful.
ALSO, for those of you reading this who know me well - I'm choosing to take part in Rowan's sponsored walk instead of going to the Rugby League Magic Weekend - which just shows how very important this cause is, and how much I’d really appreciate your donations!!!
Ok, that’s me done, thanks for reading – and if you’ve donated, THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH!! xx
