Story

UPDATE 16 FEBRUARY 2008

Thanks to you all for helping me hit the £3500 mark. It's an incredible milestone and I'm sure we can reach it if you just keep giving (no pun intended).

As part of my vigourous training regime, I and seven other volunteers of quiestionable fitness,  are attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge in May. This involves climbing the highest points in the United Kingdom in an ankle crushing time. We will conquer Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon between the 13th and 15th of May. We've had great support from our friends at The Mall in Camberley but still need your donations in case they don't make it back. Honourable mentions go to Chris, who is running Brighton half-marathon in November and his donations are going towards the target. You can keep track of our preparation and progress in our new blog page http://3peakmountains.blogspot.com/. Thanks again!

On the 31 October 2008, I  embark on a 8 days hiking trip through Nepal to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Although I am the specimen of physical perfection, this will still be a monumental task. A trip 'through' Nepal probably isn't the best description of what lies ahead either, it's more of a trip 'over' Nepal as we average a height of 1500m above sea level. There will be six days of hiking, each one taking between 4 to 9 hours. The high point, no pun intended, will be the 8 hour hike on day 5 that leads to Tara Top, which peaks at 2800m. Naturally, the risk of personal injury is great, so I ask those of you that would love nothing more than to see me in a great deal of discomfort to give generously. You know who you are...

We are all aware of the devastating effect cancer can have on those closest to us and the work Macmillan Cancer Support has undertaken, in all areas, is simply outstanding. Please give what you can to help me help Macmillan help families affected by cancer. Even if it means falling off the side of Katmandu.
