Many thanks for your support. There are two main reasons for doing this. Firstly , i wanted to take on a new personal challenge this year that would be physically demanding but fun and secondly ( more importantly ) i wanted to make sure that our Region ( Ann Saunders ) makes a really positive contribution to raising funds for the Foundation in it's 10th Anniversary Year.
Hence we ( i am taking my dog Ruby ) are preparing to walk 100 miles of the North Downs Way in Five Days , from Guildford in Surrey to Ashford in Kent , over the Foundation Week - May 24th to May 28th. Each night we will be stopping off at one of our Home's to join the residents , families and staff in a 10th Anniversary Celebration Party.
But the good news is that we will not be walking alone ! Already many brave team members from across the Region and further are signing up to join me for a leg or two and help raise funds. So far the following will be doing at least one leg - Ann Saunders , Bev Williams ,Anthony Beorby , Micky Shirley , Robin Comerford , Sian Mitchell , Briony Prosser , Ellen Timson , Barry Jordan , Chris Dixon ( SROD's , ROD's , ROM'S , Support Services )Jo Bown , Chris Glover plus Meryl Bridges, Allison Butler , Sally Luery ( from Emily Jackson ) , John Lavan , John Smith , Jean Hiley , Amanda Pace ( from Tandridge ) , Nicola Starbuck ( from Paternoster ) , Penny Hammond ( from Park View ) , Jane Sayers ( from Epsom ) , Mike Hope ( from Thackeray ) Charlotte Oppong-Agyare , Chantel Gohil, Aisling Kearney , Binta Alhassan ( from Marketing ) Jim Fogden ( Director ) , Kate Flory and Jo Amey( Graduate Scheme ) , 7 Walkers from Friston House , 5 Walkers from Newington Court and 4 Walkers from Reigate Beaumont.
Plus a few more who need a little more persuasion but i'm working on it !!!
It's going to be a brilliant experience and a very healthy way of team building !
I must also say a big thank you to Chris Withers ( from Emily Jackson ) and Brian Hunt ( Property Services ) who are giving up considerable time to be the Support Team for the week. One thing i can guarantee is that we'll have a few laughs along the way !
Can't wait to get going !!!
You are welcome to keep up to speed with progress ( and to see who will be walking ) by visiting my blog
