Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976, with the sole aim of ridding the world of poverty housing. Using donated money, materials and labour we work in partnership with people in need of shelter to build safe, decent homes in over 90 countries around the world. Today we have built, repaired or renovated over 300,000 homes, helping over one and a half million people in more than 3,000 communities.

My story

I wanted to bring you the most up-to-date news about my run before this webpage closes down.

There has been a tremendous response in terms of sponsorship. The final figure awaits an update from someone who's been helping me to gather in local spnsorship but the total is now in excess of £3,000.

Over £2,000 of this will make it possible for Habitat to build a home in Ivory Coast where, because of all the troubles, it has been difficult to see homes being built. Over another £1,000 will go towards sponsoring students making it possible for them to join building teams being sent from Edinburgh through a partnering charity called Hope Into Homes.

This means we have achieved all that we set out to do and more.

So thank you for all your sponsorship and support.
