Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On good Friday both myself and a Friend will be Cycling from Southport (West Coast) to Hornsea (East Coast) totalling 215 miles (Hopefully if we dont get lost) each to raise money for our chosen charities. Mine is the CF Trust.
On the 5th of October 2005 my wife gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy (Lucas). At first everything looked normal. But after a couple months Lucas was having trouble gaining weight and also he constantly had Chest Infections. It was during a visit to the Doctors and a referal to the Hospital that one really switched on doctor proceeded with a sweat test and the result was positive. In April 2006 both my Wifes life and Myself's changed. It was with the Diagnosis of CF that reality of this condition kicked in through constant meetings with Physiotherapists showing us what to do to, Doctors telling us what to do when a Chest Infection occurs and Nutritionists telling us how to keep Lucas's weight up.
As some of you are aware Cystic Fibrosis is a condition that affects the Body by making Mucus (which we all have) extremely sticky. This sticks to the inside of the lungs where airbourne bacteria lands and breeds resulting in infection. This Mucus blocks the enzymes that are created in the Pancreas going to the Digestive System which makes for very poor weight gain. This condition requires lots of drugs and physiotherapy not just ocassionally but everyday day in day out whether they are ill or not.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
