George Kirk Reads for Children in Need, A Story Time Marathon

Mrs. Kirk Reads for Children in Need, a story time marathon · 21 October 2012
My names is George Kirk, I've been an award winning writer for a year, a primary school teacher for 15 years and a story lover forever!
On Friday November the 16th I will be giving up my usual lessons and instead running a Marathon Storytime session in the library of St. Mary's CEP School Rawtenstall. From 8.30 in the morning until 12 noon I will tell tales to entertain, amuse, shock, surprise and inspire children from 3 to... well there's no age limit on enjoying stories is there?
Every child in the school will have a chance to take part and donate, as well as parents, siblings and other friends form our community
To support Children in Need I intend to make full use of not only my own resources but also those of the school and local library. I hope to raise awareness of the imporatance of literary enjoyment in childhood and the need for books to be readily available to all. If you feel strongly that quality stories, a fulfilling childhood and an education for life go hand in hand please donate whatever little (or lot) you can.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep, donate now then go and read a book.
