I am running for Emma
Emma was diagnosed with Pure Erythroid Leukaemia, a rare type of leukaemia in June 2012. At the point of diagnosis she was seriously ill, she was just 16 weeks old.
However as a result of the hard work, care and support of the consultants and staff at the Oncology Unit in Alder Hey Hospital. Emma responded amazingly well to treatment. She showed great spirit throughout which meant her Mum and Dad could enjoy a wonderful few months with her.
Despite Emma being so resilient in every way, the leukaemia she had was so aggressive that tragically, she passed away on 7 October 2012.
I am running with Mike (Emma's dad) and a team of mike's and Fiona's (Emma's mum) friends to raise as much as possible for this great charity in Emma's name.
