Washing Machine Challenge 2012 · 24 June 2012

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Hello, my name is George Anstey and I am raising money for 2 charities - the first is, as stated here, Cardiac Risk in the Young - CRY (www.c-r-y.org.uk). They are a well established charity but as with all of them need all the help they can get! please go to their official website to see what they do! I have personal reasons for choosing this charity, in memory of a schoolfriend who unexpectedly passed away a few years ago, with no warning. CRY offer bereavement support and aim to raise awareness on cardiac issues in young people.

Adding to this, I am also raising money for EIL UK, a small charity, based in Malvern, Worcestershire which aims to bring people from around the world together via a number of schemes, in the vein of learning about different cultures and individual growth. I participated in a scheme earlier this year, working in Hungary and it has proved invaluable. It is charities like this that need exposure!

Hence why I am taking the 82kg washing machine for a 12mile walk....been training for a while now, 3 times a week and I know its going to be tough! But knowing people like you will be helping others and donating should make each step easier....and make my finishing line pint of Beer sweeter!!!

Please give generously!

Thanks for your time! I will update as and when! photos and videos on the way!

PS - Until EIL UK is teamed up with me on this page, you can donate directly to them by txt giving. Please txt EILX10+amount eg. EILX1010 for £10 to the number 70070. Please do visit them on their website at www.eiluk.org. If you txt, it costs the same amount as a standard txt. go on!
