ING NEW YORK MARATHON - SUNDAY 2nd NOV 2008
Hi and first of all thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I have completed the New York Marathon now and made it round in 5 hrs 10 mins. As some of you may have been aware I had been injured and was dreading the day but somehow though it was extremely hard, mentally and physically, I actually enjoyed the experience and my legs managed to hold out fairly well. Well at least until I finished. Can't say they were much use for the rest of the day and evening or the next day for that matter!
I was raising money for Leukaemia CARE due to personal reasons and my target was £1500, however with the support that I received, I have more then reached this target and with BP matching, the money is now in the region of £4000.00. So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of those that sponsored me and for the support I have recevied in the last few months, particular when I didn't think I would be able to complete it at one stage and questioned why on earth I thought I could run a marathon.
In particular I want to thank all of my family for their donations and fund raising. Sara Wilcox for the raffle that she organised, Katie Bolt & Bovis for the donation from their chairty golf day and also to some individuals who I won't name but I am sure you will know who are you, that made donations above and beyond what they needed to. It was very much appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure and if you would like to sponsor me it is also the most efficient way. Leukaemia CARE gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So if would like to sponsor me, no matter how small then that would be fantastic and I would really appreciate it.
George
