Flora London Marathon 2005 · 17 April 2005 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

That is right I am running again this year with the ambition of breaking the four hour mark, and perhaps the 14 stone mark!!! They tell me it is extremely difficult to take ½ hour off your marathon time in a year but most of you previously said I would never make it around in the first instance!!!

The charity I am supporting, Spinal Research is tantalisingly close to developing treatments to repair the spinal cord and restore sensation and movement to those paralysed by spinal damage, and now more than ever need to continue fund raising.

Following my temporary but frightening spinal injury playing rugby I am sure you will understand why I now put myself through such pain hammering those pavements.

Your donation is received with great thanks

Best regards

George
