Story
Thank you so much for even visiting this page.
It is my first time fundraising and I am extremely excited about being able to take part in the project.
The money you will give, you will give to me for me to turn into equipment and coaching sessions for hundreds of children in Rwanda.
Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) is a UK cricket development and AIDS awareness charity. It is run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers.
It was firstly formed in 2005 and now operates in over six African countries. It is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket, whilst promoting AIDS prevention.
I will be volunteering for CWB in March by going to Rwanda, visiting primary and secondary schools for two weeks. There I will be:
- Coaching cricket to children 10-18 years old
- Coaching local teachers how to set up and maintain cricket clubs (some CWB trained children have now become national players!)
- Doing all this whilst teaching children about the dangers of AIDS and how to protect themselves from this world wide devestating disease.
We will be leaving Heathrow with huge amounts of cricket equipment which we will then donate to the local schools we visit. I will therefore need to raise money for this.
I hope that you can "dig deep" and donate as much as you feel able to. You can do this knowing that every penny you give, goes directly to the children. Virtually nothing is lost in admin or organisational costs.
Thank you,
George
