Cycle Russia - St. Petersburg to Moscow · 16 January 2008

ThePromise pioneers new ways of supporting children with disabilities in Russia both in the community and within the orphanage system. It introduced the widely acclaimed pre-school education system called Portage into a Russian Baby Home, providing a model of best practice which has now been rolled out into the community and other institutions.

Story

Hi!

In September, I'm going to be doing a sponsored bike ride through the heart of Russia from St. Petersburg to Moscow.  It will be 10 days and over 550km of tough cycling, on road and off, through some spectacular scenery, ending up beneath the onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow.

I'm raising money for ThePromise which is introducing innovative methods of care for disabled children in Russia.  Your money will really help to transform the lives of the children they work with.  All the money raised will go towards training more specialised workers to help the children of Ryazan.  To find out more please go to www.thepromise.org.uk.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ThePromise will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. (For any technophobes, get in touch with me for more traditional methods of donating.)

Thank you so much for your support.
