Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've been growing my hair since the age of 15. In a short space of time both my baby cousin and my Grandfather (who I was incredibly close to) passed away and I began growing my hair with the intention of cutting it off for charity. As time went on I learnt about a charity called Little Princesses that spurred me on to grow it even more and my hair is now at something that has been discribed as 'Disney length' at reaching my bum!
They are a charity theat takes donations of hair where they treat it, strip it of colour and then dye it and turn it into wigs for children who have illnesses that cause them to lose their hair, be it cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania or any other illness. I would urge you all to do the same. You don't have to grow your hair specifically but if you ever have a drastic haircut and go from long to short, please consider donating your hair instead of letting it just go in the bin!
I never started out with a plan of how long I was going to grow my hair until, and recently I've been thinking of doing it after graduation however because my hair is so thick (it's pretty heavy!) and is becoming unmanageable I have decided that the time is come!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please donate all you can, I'll really really appreciate it. Anything you can give is wonderful, even if it's just a few pounds. My hair is going from halfway down my body to up past my ears, this is a big deal!
