I am Georgie and I will be cycling solo from
Land’s End to John O’Groats in June 2007 - that's more than 1,000 miles. I will be totally self-sufficient, carrying my tent, food, water, clothing and spares in my trailer.
It’s been a long time since I’ve undertaken any physical exercise due to a severe whiplash injury sustained in a car accident in 2001. The last six years have been long and hard living with chronic pain and depression as a result of a pain disorder. However, slowly but surely, I am on the mend.
I started my training on 2 January 2007. You can see photographs and follow my progress at: myspace.com/georgiecycle. This isn't my first cycle touring experience so I know that I’ve got a LONG way to go!
My dad, William GEORGE Goodman, lost his fight against cancer multiple myeloma in October 2006. I also lost my mum, Gloria Annette Goodman to cancer Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in April 1999.
I dedicate this ride to both of them. They will be with me all the way. All funds raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support Bristol Bath and North Somerset. They do such a wonderful job and are solely funded by donation and sponsorship. Please take a little time to look at their website and all the hard work and support they give.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online to help other families.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me and Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
