Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease which has been having a deep impact on my immediate family for as long as I can remember. I have seen the effects this debilitating condition can have but have also experienced the positive attitude and bravery some sufferers tackle it with. From grants for helping mobility problems to research into new treatments, I have also grown to appreciate the brilliant work the Multiple Sclerosis Society does to help make the life of sufferers easier.

This summer I will be graduating from Lancaster University with a degree in Earth and Environmental Science. Before starting life in the real world, with a job in outdoor education, I want to do something positive to benefit others. After fondly remembering the cycling tours I did with my family as a child, I decided to take on the challenge of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats.

So in July 2007, the same month that I will be celebrating my graduation and 21st birthday, I am aiming to raise £100 for every year of my life. I will be cycling with my Dad, who will be providing expert mechanical and map reading support. My Mum and brother will also be involved by providing accommodation in the form of a motorhome.

This challenge will give me the opportunity to raise the profile of Multiple Sclerosis whilst showing those close to me how much I want to help them. My target of £2100 should hopefully go some way to helping sufferers throughout the country as well as helping research into finding a cure.

If you would like to help me meet my target, please donate through this secure and simple site. A contribution of £8.50 would sponsor one month of my life, £100 a whole year! With the addition of gift aid (if you are a tax payer)an extra 28% can be added at no cost to you!

Thank you for visiting my page and please do what you can to support me!

 Georgina
