My story

Hello and thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page for my first ever marathon!

I'm currently bashing out my training in the sand dunes of Dubai so no chance of eliciting sympathy for battles with the rain/snow/sleet of this miserable UK winter but, more importantly, I'm hoping to raise funds for a great cause - Sue Ryder Care - a charity founded by a highly inspiring and committed Yorkshirewoman.  The work undertaken by this charity means a lot to me and my family having experienced first hand the agony of caring for my father during his battle with cancer.

As well as the UK and Eastern Europe, the charity operates in Malawi - a country in which several members of my family and I have spent time volunteering.  You can read more about the work of Sue Ryder Care in the panel on the left.

If you would like to sponsor me for this challenge, I would be supergrateful for a donation of any size to this champion cause and, of course, for support track-side on 25 April!

Many thanks

George X
