Story

Hello there

On the 27th of September i will be running the Lake Garda Marathon. On the 27th of September i will be running the Lake Garda Marathon. Sorry, I haven't got tourettes it's just that find myself repeating it at times because I have never ever done anything like this before. The thought of running 26.2 miles makes me want to go back to bed.

To be honest what inspired me to start training was the death of my friend Kate Auchterlonie who was tragically knocked off her bike back in February. At her funeral we all heard how Kate would run up mountains and cycle 100 miles on a Saturday morning! A few days later i started researching Marathons with my friend TC and found the one in Lake Garda. Which is in Italy, like...

I also had another friend Jon Clee who died in 2007 in a road accident so I would like you donate some cash to BRAKE, which is a road safety charity. Your donations will be used to prevent death and injury on the roads through the education of all road users.

All I have been doing these last few months is running. And when I'm not actually running I'm talking about running. My life is now one big run.

Will be blogging about it also so get to http://ghyweljohn.blogspot.com/ for my take on stuff. I realise that the big pictures of me are slightly self indulgent and i'd like to apolgise in advance for any offence they may cause.

Wish me luck then. Who's gonna get things started?
